Water conservation: Gainesville hosting 'Ask a Plumber' Workshop

By AccessWDUN staff

The Gainesville Department of Water Resources is looking for ways to help city water customers conserve water during the current Level 2 drought - and will be hosting an “Ask a Plumber” Workshop Friday from 12:00-1:00 at the Riverside Water Treatment Plant.

“Leaky faucets and toilets waste a tremendous amount of water. A faucet that leaks once per second can waste 2000 gallons a year while a leaky toilet can waste up to 400 gallons a day or 146,000 gallons a year,” says Water Conservation Specialist Kristen Howard. “We’re hosting this workshop for residents to ask questions free of charge.

Register for the meeting by calling Howard at 770-532-7462 or on Facebook at Facebook.com/GainesvilleWater

Free lunch will be provided.

The Riverside Water Treatment Plant is located at 2120 Riverside Drive.
