Truett McConnell University's Taylor Nix has been named Appalachian Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.
In two complete games last week, the junior from Jefferson picked up two wins to start AAC play, allowing just five runs in both appearances combined. Currently, Nix is 12th in the conference in ERA, fifth in opponent batting average, fourth in total strikeouts and fifth in wins.
Nix and the Bears will take the field again on Tuesday as they take on Bryan College in AAC action. First pitch of the twinbill will happen at 2 p.m.
