A suspect who pleaded guilty to charges related to a stabbing at a Gainesville apartment complex that left a man dead in January will spend the next 15 years behind bars.
Eric Aurelio Reyes, 26, was sentenced Tuesday, and given 10 years probation to serve after his prison sentence, Hall County District Attorney Lee Darragh confirmed via email Wednesday.
Reyes pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter on February 15 for the death of Evan Isaac Rosas, 18, at the Preserve at Tumbling Creek apartment complex.
Gainesville Police officials charged Reyes with malice murder at the time his arrest, saying that it was not a random crime.
Reyes pleaded guilty to stabbing Rosas the night of January 17.
