The City of Gainesville's garbage and recycling pickup schedules will be altered the next two weeks because of the Christmas and New Year's holidays.
City officials announced the following earlier this week:
*Christmas Week
Garbage routes: no garbage will be picked up on Monday or Tuesday. We will resume normal pick up days on Thursday and Friday.
Recycling routes: Monday and Tuesday's recycling will not be picked up this week.
Wednesday's recycling will be picked up on Wednesday as normal.
*New Year's Week
Garbage routes
No garbage will be picked up on Monday. Monday's will be picked up on Tuesday and Tuesday's routes will be picked up on Wednesday. Back to normal Thursday and Friday.
Recycling: No recycling will be picked up on Monday, New Year's Day.
Monday's recycling will be picked up on Tuesday and Tuesday's recycling will be picked up on Wednesday. Wednesday's recycling will be picked up on Thursday.
