Sunday morning house fire in South Hall seriously injures one

One person was taken by air ambulance to Grady Hospital in Atlanta after being burned in a house fire in South Hall County Sunday morning.

Capt. Casey Ramsey, Interim Director of Emergency Management for Hall County Fire Services, said crews were called to the residence in the 3900 block of Flat Creek Road at 10:24 a.m.

A neighbor told arriving firefighters that there was an individual still inside the house.

"Hall County Fire personnel made entry and removed the individual," Ramsey wrote in an email statement. He did not identify the person, but said he was a man in his 20s, who was inside the home alone at the time of the fire.

Ramsey says the preliminary investigation from the Hall County Fire Marshal's Office points to the improper use and storage of a flammable liquid near and open flame.

The fire remains under investigation, and no other information has been released.
