Habersham County authorities are warning residents about a possible scam related to roofing.
According to a sheriff's office Facebook post, a number of people have reported being contacted. The callers claim they'll be at a neighbor's home to look at possible roof damage. They then ask to look at the call recipient's roof.
"They are very persistent and will become argumentive with you," authorities state in the social media post. "Tell them no and hang up the phone."
The sheriff's office said anyone who gets an actual visit from someone related to the call should call 911 and ask for an officer.
