Authorities: Teen shot by another teen at home in Forsyth County

A Forsyth County teenager was injured, shot by another teenager in the victim's home Thursday evening.

The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office said there was some sort of verbal dispute between the two.

Investigators said the shooter ran from the home and was captured later. The injured teenager was taken to the hospital.

CBS 46 reported that investigators indicated the victim's parents were home at the time, but the incident had nothing to do with any sort of Thanksgiving gathering.  The shooter was described as a friend of a friend visiting the victim's house.

The incident unfolded on Wondering Way in the Riverbrooke subdivision, according to the sheriff's office.

"Our presence will remain in Riverbrooke investigating the shooting and trying to locate the discarded handgun which was thrown away by the suspect as he ran from the house," the sheriff's office posted on its Facebook page Thursday night.
