Police release names of those involved in Queen City Parkway crash

There were 14 people involved in Monday morning's multi-vehicle traffic accident that blocked Queen City Parkway for several hours, police said.
 
The most severely injured victim is identified as Nicole Rocafort, 24, according to Gainesville Police Cpl. Drew Reed. She was in a car that was rear-ended by a tanker truck. Rocafort remained in critical condition Tuesday at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
 
Police identified the other people involved in the crash as; Anthony Teague, 41, Sera Alvarez, 14, Owen Galindo, 15, Lynn Jones, 44, John Jones, 39, Christopher Cargile, 36, Kenneth Perry, 72, Karen Alvarez Valdez, 18, Elisabeth Bailey, 45, Gladys Kell, 67, Wayne Jones, 47, William Davidson, 24 and Michael Stream, 29.
 
Police said there were between 10 and 12 vehicles involved in the collision near West Ridge Road. Emergency officials earlier said that 11 people were taken to the medical center following the incident.  Rocafort was the only victim who remained hospitalized Tuesday.
 
"All other parties have been treated and released from the hospital," Reed wrote in an email.
 
Queen City Parkway was closed until roughly 1 p.m.
 
Further information about the crash has not been released.
 
"The investigation is still ongoing and further will be released when available," Reed stated.
