A nine-unit apartment complex is planned in west Gainesville near Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Chris Patten is asking the city to annex the nearly one-acre tract, which is located at the intersection of Memorial Park Road and Old Flowery Branch Road.
"The applicant is proposing to annex the subject property with a zoning of Residential-II (R-II) for the purpose of constructing 9 apartment units," according to the agenda for the city planning and appeals board's Nov. 14 meeting. "The property is zoned Residential-I (R-I) within unincorporated Hall County and is adjacent to the city limits to its south and east."
The application says that a duplex apartment is currently located on the site and that plans call for it to be torn down to make room for the apartments.
According to the applicant, the proposed units will contain two bedrooms and one bath. Access to the complex is proposed from Memorial Park Road.
The planning and appeals board meets at 5:30 at the Justice Center on Queen City Parkway.
