By AccessWDUN

LEXINGTON — Rabun County exploded for 26 first quarter points and then cruised to a 56-14 victory over Oglethorpe County Friday night and seize its fourth consecutive Region 8-AA crown.

Senior quarterback Bailey Fisher was a perfect 11-for-11 for 216 yards and 5 touchdowns passing to lead the Wildcats (9-0, 5-0 Region 8-AA). It took just three plays for Rabun to get on the board when Fisher and Austin Jones connected on 14-yard touchdown pass for a 7- lead just 26 seconds into the game.

Jones capped the Wildcats next drive four minute later on a 1-yard run and three minutes after that Fisher found Braxton Hicks for a 16-yard scoring pass for a 19-0 lead after a pair of failed point after attempts. Just over two minutes later Justin Wilkes capped the big first quarter recovering an Oglethorpe County (0-9, 0-6) fumble in the end zone for a 26-0 lead.

The Wildcats added 23 more in the second quarter on a trio of Fisher touchdown strikes -- 1-yard to Brison Beck, 7-yards to Jones, and 30-yards to Sam Speed -- within a 6-minute span for a 49-0 halftime lead.

Rabun County's final points came midway through the third quarter when backup quarterback Sam Adams connected with Brody Jarrard  for a 33-yard scoring pass.

The Patriots scored a pair of late touchdowns in the fourth quarter.

Nine different players caught passes with seven accumulating 24 yards or more.

The Wildcats close out the regular season next week at home against Monticello.
