Gainesville Parks and Recreation announced Friday that its weekend Halloween event planned for Saturday, Oct. 28 has been canceled.
Trick or Treat on the Trail had been set for 3 to 5 p.m. on the Midtown Greenway, but a forecast of rain prompted officials to call off the event this year.
