One person died and two others were injured in a two-vehicle traffic accident Tuesday morning in south Forsyth County.
Forsyth County Sheriff's Deputy Doug Rainwater said the head-on crash happened on Mathis Airport Parkway at Mathis Airport Drive.
Authorities believe a van crossed a tree-lined median and collided head-on with an oncoming vehicle. Deputies got the first 911 call about the crash around 6:51 a.m., according to Rainwater.
The injured parties, the van driver and his daughter, were taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The deceased driver of the other vehicle was traveling alone, according to Rainwater.
He said the investigation is continuing as authorities work to notify family members of the victims.
