LAWERENCEVILLE — Mountain View kicked a 31-yard field goal as time expired to knock off Mill Creek 20-17 on Friday in Lawrenceville.
The Hawks (6-3, 3-2 Region 6-AAAAAAA) traded scoring plays with the Bears throughout but could not find the go-ahead after Allen Andrzejewski knotted the score at 17-17 with a 32-yard field goal in the third quarter.
Uriah Leverette ripped off a 77-yard touchdown run and finished with 141 yards on 18 carries, while Austin Williams hauled in a 34-yard touchdown pass from Brady Longenecker, who completed 9 of 19 passes but was also picked off once. Williams finished with three receptions for 46 yards.
Mill Creek never led during the contest.
The Hawks could still end up in a three-way tie for second place in Region 6-AAAAAAA depending on the next two weeks' outcomes, however.
Mill Creek has a bye next week and will close out the regular season on Nov. 3 against Duluth.
