T.J. Reaid scores Southern All Stars win at Talladega

By Series PR

EASTABOGA, Ala. - T.J. Reaid closed out the 2017 Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series season with a victory on Saturday night at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, Alabama.

Reaid, of Acworth, Georgia, held off a late race charge from Riley Hickman to score his first career series win.

Meanwhile, Newnan, Georgia’s Austin Horton became the 22nd series champion in the 34 year history of the series, along with becoming the first driver to win the title and Rookie of the Year honors in the same year.

Riley Hickman finished Saturday night’s race in second, with Horton in third.

Michael Page was flagged in fourth place, but saw that finish go away after being disqualified after being found light at the scales in post-race tech.

That moved Eric Hickerson to fourth, with Ashton Winger in fifth.

Todd Morrow, Dallas Cooper, Will Roland, Tim Busha and Jason Croft rounded out the top ten.
