The city of Suwanee is moving forward with a series of 17 paving projects -- totaling just four miles of roadway -- across the city.
City council on Tuesday approved the $805,048 contract for the work, which was awarded to Allied Paving Contractors of Pendergrass, which was the lowest bidder on the project.
"Once, sometimes twice a year we go out for a seasonal street resurfacing for a number of our streets throughout the city," said Marty Allen, city manager.
City leaders opted to put all of the projects, which are generally smaller portions of roadway, into a single project, instead of approving 17 different items.
"Most of these are neighborhood streets," said Allen.
