Dawson Co. roundabout included in latest GDOT contract awards

The Georgia Department of Transportation recently awarded about $8.6 million for road projects in Dawson, Fannin and Pickens counties, including a roundabout in Dawson.  Contracts for work in two other areas counties were also approved.

The roundabout will be located at State Routes 53 and 183, and has a scheduled completion date of May 31, 2018.  The price tag: $3.8 million.

Also on the project list:  $4.5 million for approximately 53 miles of resurfacing at five locations across Fannin and Pickens counties. These upgrades are expected be completed by November 30.  Along with this award, a contract was approved for signing and pavement marking upgrades at railroad crossings throughout Pickens County. That $292,243 project is not expected to be finished before May 31, 2018.

Also, in northeast Georgia:  contracts were awarded for intersection improvements at various locations on Georgia 9 and Georgia 400 in Forsyth County and five miles of resurfacing on State route 385 in Habersham County from State Route 105 to State Route 17.
