Suwanee City Council approves $687k renovation of Pierce's Corner in Old Town

Suwanee City Council has given its approval to a $686,995 renovation project for the Pierce's Corner building in Old Town Suwanee.

The goal of the project is to have the building, which the city owns, in "white box" condition, allowing it to be leased for commercial operations, such as a restaurant or office space, said Marty Allen, city manager.

The building sits at the corner of Main Street and Scales Road.

"We purchased it largely to protect it. It's one of our few historic assets," said Allen.

The two-story, 6,000 square foot building was constructed in 1910 as a general store.

The renovation contract was awarded to C.B. Summer Construction of Roswell.

Council approved the motion at its voting session Tuesday night.
