The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said a man shot by deputies in Forsyth County on Sunday night has died.

GBI spokeswoman Nelly Miles confirmed the death of Jason Aldridge, 44, Tuesday morning.

Aldridge was shot during an altercation at Shady Grove RV Park near Cumming just after 11:20 p.m. Sunday. Two deputies were called to handle a report of a suicidal man. When they got there, they said they found Aldridge armed with a knife. When he reportedly threatened the deputies with the knife, one of the deputies shot the suspect.

The deputies remain on administrative leave while the GBI investigates.
