Mountain Education Charter High School (Mountain Education Center, Inc.) has been awarded the Award of Distinction for Excellent Financial Reporting by the Georgia Department of Audits and Accounts for the second consecutive fiscal year.
This award is presented to organizations that submit quality financial statements and supporting documentation in a timely manner. To receive this award, the organization’s annual financial report must be free of any significant deficiencies or material weaknesses, comply with all Transparency in Government requirements, and be given an unmodified audit opinion.
Dr. Wayne Lovell, Mountain Education School Superintendent, expressed thanks to Andrea Hulsey, Finance Director, and the entire Mountain Education staff for their commitment to performing to the highest standard of financial excellence in their daily work. “It is a real distinction to receive this honor for two consecutive fiscal years” stated Dr. Lovell.
Mountain Education is a non-traditional evening high school serving students across North Georgia. The Central Office for Mountain Education is located in Cleveland, Georgia. School sites are located in the following counties: Bartow, Dawson, Elbert, Fannin, Forsyth, Gilmer, Habersham, Hall, Lumpkin, Pickens, Rabun, Stephens, Union, and White. Students are offered the opportunity to earn a High School diploma in a convenient, flexible, self-paced format. Mountain Education staff members are dedicated to helping students achieve success in reaching their true potential. Credits earned with Mountain Education are transferable to any high school and MEC is AdvancEd Accredited/SACS.
