Forsyth County authorities said they plan to release more information Tuesday in an investigation into a weekend pawn shop robbery carried out by seven suspects.
Six of those suspects are in jail; the seventh, an unidentified male, remains at large.
The incident happened Saturday morning just before 5:30 at Forsyth County Pawn Shop on Atlanta Road in Cumming, according to a press release from the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office.
"Seven male suspects entered the store by backing a truck into the front of the building. The suspects, wearing sweatshirts and bandanas began to take firearms from within the store. An employee staying in the store encountered the suspects and fired a single shot; no one was injured during the encounter," said the press statement.
The suspects escaped the scene in the truck. When a deputy attempted to stop the truck on Georgia 400 around McFarland Parkway, the suspects led the deputy on a chase into the city of Alpharetta. When the truck was disabled, the suspects jumped from the vehicle and scattered. Eventually, six of the suspects were caught.
In a Monday morning email statement, Forsyth County Sheriff's Deputy Peter Sabella said the names of the suspects, along with additional information on the robbery, would be released Tuesday.
