Some "intermittent" lane closures will be required this week because of road work on Georgia 53 in Forsyth County.
The details, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation:
What: Intermittent lane closures will require flag operators to direct traffic while making improvements to state Route 53 in Forsyth County.
Weather permitting, this week’s work will include cutting in the new right turn lane to serve Westbrook Road and adding a left turn lane on state Route 53 at Jullian Road.
When: Monday, Sept 12 through Friday, September 23, 9:00a.m.-5:00p.m.
Why: Lane closures are necessary to complete the project to reconstruct SR 53 at Jullian Drive. When maintenance work is finished there will be a left turn lane, a through lane, and a right turn lane added to SR 53.
