Softball: East Hall blanks Dawson Co. to stay in 2nd in 7-AAA

DAWSONVILLE — The East Hall softball team ran its win streak to four with a dominating 8-0 victory over Dawson County Thursday in Region 7-AAA action.

The win kept the Lady Vikings (9-5, 6-2 Region 7-AAA) in second place in the region standings.

East Hall scored four runs in the first to jump out to the quick lead and put the game away with four more in the sixth.

Macy Banks kept Dawson County (5-9. 1-6) off balance pitching a five-hit shutout striking out two.

Maggie Scheadera took the loss for Dawson County allowing five runs in 5 1/3 innings, walking none and striking out two.

The Lady Vikings got RBI doubles by Jennifer Lopez and Carley Cox and a two-run single by Steffanie Redmon in the sixth inning. Peyton Turner racked up two RBIs on two hits for East Hall.

East Hall next will play host to Jefferson on Saturday in a non-region battle. Dawson County, which has lost five of its last six games, will play host to Union County on Tuesday in a 7-AAA matchup.
