A Gainesville man who suffered critical injuries in a two-vehicle crash on Candler Highway Tuesday morning has died from his injuries.
The crash involving 37-year-old John Paul Smith's SUV and a tractor trailer was initially reported as a fatality and then the Georgia State Patrol indicated that was not the case.
Smith died later at the hospital as a result of injuries sustained in the collision.
Hillside Chapel Funeral Home in Gainesville is handling funeral arrangements for Smith.
