Piedmont cycling wins team sprint, impresses at SECCC Track Cup in Atlanta

ATLANTA — After competing in their first ever event in program history over the weekend, the Piedmont College cycling teams were back in action less than 24 hours later this time hitting the track for the SECCC Track Cup hosted by Georgia Tech at the Dick Lane Velodrome.

The Lions won the team sprint at the event with an extremely strong showing especially on the women's side as riders Erica Allar and Jessica Prinner swept all of the races going 1-2 in each. For their efforts, the pair finished first and second overall as well. 

On the men's side, sprinter Joseph Marshall won the match sprints and was 5th in the omnium while Andrew Guelzo was second in his scratch race, fifth in the points race, and won the non-collegiate points race. 

Youngster Dylan Cantrell competed in the non-collegiate events winning the 10-Lap Snowball race while placing second in both the scratch and the points race. Cantrell was also fourth in the miss-and-out and sixth in the unknown distance race winning his omnium.
