A Johnson High School student was arrested Tuesday for allegedly threatening to shoot students and faculty in a journal entry he turned in to a teacher, authorities said.
A search of Tristen Allen Patrick's car, which was on school property, yielded several knives, two of which had blades longer than two inches, which is a felony, according to Hall County Sheriff's Lt. Scott Ware.
Patrick, 17, of Gainesville is charged with making terroristic threats and possessing a weapon on school property; he has been suspended from school and barred from all Hall County School System property, pending a judiciary tribunal, according to Gordon Higgins, school system spokesman.
"The written assignment was very graphic," said Ware in a phone interview.
"It described completing the school shooting, and even went into planning a certain date to do it and what type of gun to use. We took (the threat) very seriously."
At last report, Patrick, a senior at the school, remained in the Hall County Jail without bond.
