ATLANTA (AP) One of the country's largest youth triathlon is returning to suburban Atlanta.
More than 1,300 kids are expected to participate in the fifth annual Atlanta Kids Triathlon on Sunday at the West Gwinnett Park & Aquatic Center in Berkeley Lake, Georgia.
Track runner and motivational speaker Almon Gunter will speak at a prep rally on Saturday afternoon.
Youths ranging from the ages of 6 to 15 will take part in swimming, biking and running competitions. More than 4,000 are expected to attend the event with about 500 metro Atlanta kids competing in their first triathlon.
The Atlanta Kids Triathlon is a fundraising event for an outreach program to introduce kids to the benefits of a healthy and active lifestyle.
