One person is dead, and two other people were seriously injured from a wreck that happened early Monday morning on I-85 in Jackson County.
The wreck, which involved a tractor trailer and a van, happened in the southbound lanes of the interstate at the Dry Pond Road exit around 3:20 a.m., according to a news release from Steve Nichols, Jackson County EMS Director.
Two victims were taken from the van, with one male victim in serious condition; the other victim, a female, sustained "moderate injuries."
The male driver of the tractor trailer was partially ejected from the vehicle, and required "an extensive extrication process."
He was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.
The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the accident.
