NORCROSS — The North Hall softball team picked up its first win of the season Tuesday knocking off Greater Atlanta Christian 8-4 in Region 7-AAA action.
The Lady Trojans (1-1, 1-0 Region 7-AAA) pounded out 13 hits on the night and got going early. They struck first when Julian Garrett (2-for-4, 2 RBI) drove in Kailee Dyer (2-for-4, 2 runs) and Niki Carver (2-for-4, 2 runs) with a single in the first inning. Kadie Sullens (3 hits, 1 run) crossed the plate on an error by GAC in the third inning following a double by Garrett.
Carson Negley had a two run single in the sixth inning that scored Amber Smith (2-for-2, 1 run) and Macy Clark (one hit, 1 run). Camilla Howell provided a sacrifice fly in the seventh inning that allowed Carver to come home for the Lady Trojans final run.
The Lady Trojans defense was equally as impressive by turning double plays in the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings.
North Hall next will play host to Union County on Thursday in an early key Region 7-AAA battle.
