Volleyball: East Hall sweeps pair at home to open season

RABBITTOWN — The East Hall girls volleyball team opened its season at home Tuesday night taking a pair of victories over Eastside and Stephens County.

The Lady Vikings (2-0) whipped Eastside 25-19, 25-12 and then beat Stephens County 25-13, 25-16.
 
Savannah Thellman had eight points scored on serve with two kills, seven digs and 28 assists and Holly Poole added 11 points on serve with five aces and seven kills to lead East Hall. Summer Lindsey had 25 digs and Tessa Rider scored 14 points on serve with four aces, 10 kills, and nine digs, Minette Maldonado added 13 kills and 18 digs, and Niyah Rucker had 14 kills with three digs and four blocks for the Lady Vikings.

Araianna Hernandez scored 10 points on serve with three aces and six digs for East Hall, which travels to Athens Christian on Thursday.
