BLUE RIDGE —East Hall used an eight-run fourth inning to rally from an early deficit to beat Fannin County 11-4 Tuesday in both teams' Region 7-AAA softball opener.
The Lady Vikings (1-0, 1-0 Region 7-AAA) trailed 2-0 after the first inning and 4-1 after the second after a two-run triple by Kyla Seabolt.
East Hall took the lead for good in the fourth on a bases loaded walk, a two-run single by Macy Banks, and highlighted by a bases loaded double by Kaitlyn Daniel that cleared the bases. Steffanie Redmon and Peyton also had RBI hits in the big inning.
The Lady Vikings added single runs in each of the sixth and seventh innings.
Banks earned the win for the Lady Vikings going 5 2/3 innings surrendering just the one hit Seabolt and fanned six.
Morgan Contardi took the loss for Fannin County (0-1, 0-1) allowing seven runs in 3 2/3 innings with four walks and struck out three.
East Hall next will travel to Jefferson on Thursday. Fannin County travels to Lumpkin County on Friday in another Region 7-AAA battle.
