COVINGTON — The Jefferson girls volleyball opened the season with a solid showing in a five-team event on Saturday at Eastside High School.
The Lady Dragons went 4-1 beating Lovejoy (25-10, 25-14), Rockdale County (25-17, 25-12), Heritage, Conyers (25-21, 25-19), and Newton County (25-6, 25-6) but lost to Decatur (25-11, 25-19).
Abby Wood led Jefferson with 27 kills, 34 digs, and nine aces. Bre Arbanas added 21 kills and 14 aces, Grace Haney had 42 assists and 14 digs, Hope Forrester had 15 kills, and Kaitlyn Henderson 13 digs for the Lady Dragons.
