Hall County drug agents seize $114K worth of meth, arrest four

Four Hall County residents are behind bars after agents seized more than two pounds of methamphetamine, valued at $114,000.

"This was actually packaged in 42 separate one-ounce bags.  Kind of picture like a golf ball type size.  Of course, these are all approximate amounts," Hall County Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad Sgt. Don Scalia said.

Authorities executed a search at a residence on Old Cornelia Highway in Gainesville on Tuesday.

Larry Dwayne Fricks, 25, Victor Joseph Lafountain, 43, Bobby Joshua Fowler, 25, and Chelsea L. Mangum, 25 — all of Gainesville — were arrested and charged with trafficking methamphetamine.

Agents also seized a misdemeanor amount of marijuana, $6,273 in cash, three firearms, scales and packaging materials.

All four suspects were booked into the Hall County Jail without incident.

"We don't anticipate any further arrests or charges out of this at this time.  I think this one is going to be closed," Scalia said.
