Memorial fund created to honor memory of White County man, benefit underprivileged

By AccessWDUN staff
Rev. Marlene Graham Kellermier Echols announces the creation of a memorial fund to honor the memory of her late husband, Victor Maurice Echols of Cleveland.

The fund will benefit people in northeast Georgia who need help to avoid homelessness, meet other basic needs, and better themselves.  The fund will be administered through Caring Hands Ministries, a nonprofit  ministry that has been serving the needs of people in the White County area since 1995.   Donations in memory of Victor Maurice Echols may be sent to the fund c/o Caring Hands Ministries PO Box 2681 Cleveland or sent to Rev. Echols at 248 Candlewick Dr. Cleveland, GA 30528.

According to a news release announcing establishment of the memorial fund, Victor Maurice Echols grew up in the north Georgia mountains under "very hard conditions,"  experiencing poverty first hand and saw the effects of no work, no money, and no hope around him everyday.  But he overcame and after four years in the Navy built a successful 30-year career with Eco Labs before retiring to Cleveland.  He never forgot what he went through growing up and was very concerned that others have a good safe home and other life necessities.

Echols and his wife first became acquainted with the work of Caring Hands Ministries in the late 1990s when they rented space to the ministry and have been involved with the ministry in various ways ever since.

More information about the Victor Maurice Echols Memorial Fund will be available through Caring Hands Ministries 706 219 1980 or at the address above
