A Gainesville woman is charged with pimping for allegedly arranging for a 15-year-old girl to engage in sex acts with a male for money.
Gainesville Police Sergeant Kevin Holbrook said Tammy Lowann Baker, 48, was familiar with the victim.
"This case is one of those that's just sickening is the only words that I can possibly come up with at the moment," Holbrook said.
Baker was booked into the Hall County Jail on Saturday. Holbrook said the incident happened in late June.
"Unfortunately the 15-year-old was what we consider sexually assaulted in this case. Again, this case is an active and ongoing investigation," Holbrook said.
He said the victim reported the crime, "which is something that I can not even begin to fathom, you know the strength and the courage that this victim has had to come forth with this information. It's just a truly sad case when you look at it."
Baker was being held on $1,300 bond.
