Buckingham takes Tri-County Southern Nationals victory

BRASSTOWN, N.C. - Shanon Buckingham led flag-to-flag on Thursday night to claim his first-career Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Series dirt Late Model victory at the Tri-County Race Track in Brasstown, N.C.

The win makes Buckingham the 31st different winner in series history, and gave him a $3,500 payday.

Toccoa, Georgia’s Casey Roberts finished in second, followed by Canadian speedster Ricky Weiss in third.

Devin Gilpin finished in fourth, which gave him the points lead by just four markers over Buckingham.

Colbert, Georgia racer Kenny Collins finished in fifth.

Ivedent Lloyd, Jr., Donald McIntosh, Josh Putnam, Chris Brown and Robby Moses rounded out the top ten.
