CLEVELAND — I was fortunate to snag a floor pass Thursday night to be with the Georgia delegation on the last night of the Republican National Convention. I was on the floor for Ivanka Trump's introduction of her father, for Donald Trump's acceptance speech, which fired up the crowd in the Quicken Loans Arena and for the balloon drop, one of the most iconic moments of any political convention.
In Cleveland, more than 150,000 balloons, inflated a week ago by local high school students and raised to the rafters of the arena before the convention started, dropped on the crowd at the completion of Trump's acceptance speech. More than 1,000 pounds of confetti also fell.
I was able to record a few videos of the event to give you a perspective of the balloon drop from the floor. I hope you enjoy.
