FORT YARGO STATE PARK - Barrow County authorities report that a child drowned Saturday afternoon at the swimming beach at Fort Yargo State Park.
According to the Winder Police Facebook page, officers arrived within one minute of receiving the call. A witness was in the process of administering CPR to the 2-year-old boy when they arrived.
The child was transported to the Barrow Regional Medical Center but efforts to save him were unsuccessful.
The family was present during the tragic event according to Winder Police. No further details are being released at this time.
