The Habersham County Commission will hold a town hall meeting with interested residents of Habersham County next week to discuss the future of the Administration Building, located at 555 Monroe St., Clarkesville.
Commissioner Andrea Harper said the town hall meeting is an opportunity for residents of the county, its cities and its elected officials to be heard about the future of the aging building, which until the mid-1990s served as both the courthouse and the county jail, then was renovated to serve as the courthouse until the county occupied the new judicial center on Llewellyn Street.
Harper promoted the town hall meeting during Monday night's Clarkesville City Council meeting and Tuesday night's Cornelia City Commission meeting.
The town hall meeting, set for 6 p.m. Monday, June 13, will include a discussion of an architectural assessment of the building.
The meeting will be held in the Habersham County Administration Building, 555 Monroe St., Clarkesville, and is open to the public.
