The Gainesville City School System's second annual Summer Leadership Summit, "Cultivating Gainesville's Leadership: Charting a Path to Excellence," will be held June 6-8.
It will convene at Brenau University's Downtown Center June 6-7, where over 100 educators will participate in professional learning activities by national experts in the fields of educational leadership development, school culture/climate, and school improvement, according to a news release from the system. Additionally, the inaugural cohort of Gainesville’s Aspiring Leadership Academy will present their capstone projects following a year of learning and practicing the GCSS Leadership Essentials and Priorities, as facilitated through rigorous performance-based modules. Superintendent Dr. Wanda Creel will also deliver her State of the District Address.
On June 8, all participants will report to New Holland Knowledge Academy to focus on school improvement planning for the 2016-2017 school year. Following the school improvement planning sessions, the district's annual Comprehensive LEA Improvement Plan (CLIP) meeting will be held at 3:00 in New Holland's gym.
