UPDATED: Gainesville Target store evacuated following bomb threat

The Target store on Shallowford Road in Gainesville was evacuated around 1:00 p.m. Friday as police responded to a bomb threat.

Gainesville Police Sgt. Kevin Holbrook said in a phone interview that Shallowford and Skelton Road, and the surrounding area, were closed to the public for several hours.

The scene was cleared around 3:30 p.m.

Police are not releasing specifics of the threat, including how they learned about it.

There have been no reports of any injuries.
