Breck Davidson Named to 2016 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division III All-Region Team

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Piedmont College baseball senior Breck Davidson has been honored with a spot on the 2016 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division III All-Region Third Team, marking his first time on the listing. The first-baseman also earned recognition on the USA South All-Conference listing taking honorable mention for his achievements in 2016.

The Flowery Branch High graduate made his mark in the record book this season as he became the Lions' career leader in doubles with 45. Davidson posted a .331 batting average this season, second-best on the team to Will Skidmore, starting all 40 contests of the season for Piedmont.

Davidson also joined elite company as he hit for the cycle against LaGrange College as he was 4-for-5 in the contest with with four runs and six RBI. Davidson hit a home run in the first inning, a double in the third, a single in the fifth and tripled with two outs in the ninth inning.

Davidson's honor comes after Josh Thomas and Evan Gresham made the cut a season ago while Allen Tokarz took the honor in 2014. 

The ABCA, founded in 1945, is the primary professional organization for baseball coaches at the amateur level. Its over 8,200 members represent all 50 states and 23 countries. Since its initial meeting of 27 college baseball coaches in June 1945, Association membership has broadened to include eight divisions: NCAA Division I, II and III, NAIA, NJCAA, Pacific Association Division, High School and Youth.
