Eagle Ranch, one of the largest residential children s programs in Georgia, will host its first 5K and Fun Run on June 4.
Kelly Greer, Director of Development for the Flowery Branch organization, says it is the first time the organization has put on an event like this.
"It is going to be a great way for the community to come out, get in a beautiful run or walk, and also an opportunity to see the grounds and our facilities up close and personal," said Greer.
The Fun Run starts at 9 in the morning and the 5K race will begin at 9:30 with all of the proceeds benefiting the Ranch s mission to help make life better for children and their families.
After the morning s athletic events, Greer says snacks, a picnic lunch and activities will be available for participants. Families and individuals can explore the 270-acre campus on Saturday during or after the events.
Awards will be given to Overall Male and Female, Masters Male and Female and 1st place standard age groups beginning with 10 and Under to 75 and Over for the 5K, and all fun run finishers receive a ribbon.
The event is $30 for participants and more information on registration is available at the Eagle Ranch website.
