Vehicle strikes Cleveland apartment, knocks occupant out of bed

By Dean Dyer WRWH Radio
CLEVELAND -- A Cleveland resident was knocked out of bed Thursday afternoon when a vehicle struck an apartment on Campbell Street.

The vehicle was pulling into a parking area at 5:19 p.m. when it collided with the building, said Cleveland Fire Chief Ricky Pruitt.

Pruitt said a person in the bed directly behind the wall that was hit was knocked out of the bed, but that person declined medical treatment.

The vehicle driver told authorities she was pulling into the parking space and at the same time her dog that was in the car with her got down in the floorboard and she hit the gas rather than the brake. The driver was not hurt.

The American Red Cross was contacted to provide temporary assistance to the occupant of the apartment.
