Winder Police arrest two adults, one juvenile in gunpoint home invasion

Three suspects — two adults and a female juvenile — are behind bars for using BB guns to rob two women at gunpoint Tuesday night and steal approximately $1,500 worth of electronics.

The two women were at a home on Macy Way in Winder when the suspects, Justin Fleming, 17 of Lithonia, Marquez Stewart, 18 of Monroe and the juvenile, who is believed to be an acquaintance of the other two, pulled up.

The passenger got out of the car and pointed his gun at one of the victims, who was standing in the driveway, and told her to give him her cell phone.

"The suspect then went up on the front porch, where another female (victim) was sitting and demanded her cell phone," said Lt. Chris Cooper in a phone interview.

The suspect then told the second victim to go in the home, still at gunpoint, and told her to give him any cash or valuables she might have.

Ultimately the robbers made off with the two cell phones and a gaming console.

While those two were inside the house, the driver — also armed with a BB gun — ordered the woman standing in the driveway to get in the car with the remaining two robbers, and he drove up the street and waited.

The driver then handed off his gun to the juvenile, telling her to keep the victim at gunpoint, which she did.

At that point, the robber inside the house came out, swapped places with the victim in the car, and the three suspects fled the scene.

The victims, as well as several witnesses in the area, were able to give officers a detailed description of the suspects, including the clothes they were wearing, and their getaway vehicle. It wasn't long before a patrolling officer found them.

"(Officers) initiated a traffic stop on the car, and determined the driver was driving without a license (and) the vehicle had been stolen out of Gwinnett County," said Cooper.

A search of the vehicle turned up the guns, phones and gaming console.

Nobody was injured in the incident.

Fleming and Stewart were transported to the Barrow County Detention Center, while the juvenile, who authorities are asking be prosecuted as an adult, was taken to the Regional Youth Detention Center.

All three are charged with first degree burglary, armed robbery, aggravated assault, kidnapping, false imprisonment, theft by taking and theft by receiving (for the car).
