Hall County firefighters have extinguished a house fire on the east side of Gainesville.
Hall County Fire Services Capt. Zachary Brackett said crews arrived at the house in the 1200 block of East Ridge Road and found heavy smoke pouring from the home. He said the fire was located in the basement of the 2,500-square-foot house.
Brackett said all the occupants of the house had gotten out safely.
The cause of the fire is undetermined, Brackett said. The American Red Cross was called in to assist the occupants.
At 4 p.m., East Ridge Road had reopened to traffic.
