Coming into Saturday night's NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Kansas Speedway, there were three tracks on the schedule that Kyle Busch had not won at.
At the end of the night, he had knocked that down to two.
Busch took the lead with just over 30 laps to go after Martin Truex, Jr. had to return to pit road with a loose wheel, and went on to hold off Kevin Harvick to score his first Kansas Speedway win.
Harvick held on to finish in second, with Kurt Busch in third, Matt Kenseth in fourth and Ryan Blaney in fifth.
Dawsonville's Chase Elliott finished in ninth, and it now tied with Martin Truex, Jr. for tenth in the point standings.
As for Kyle Busch, it marked the third win of the season the defending series champion and the 37th of his career. Afterwards, Busch talked to the media about holding on for the win. We also heard from winning car owner Joe Gibbs, second place finisher Harvick and fifth place finisher Blaney.
Now the NASCAR tour heads to Deleware to face off against the “Monster Mile”, Dover International Speedway. WDUN will have live MRN Radio coverage of the entire race weekend, beginning with Sunday’s Xfinity Series Ollies Bargain Outlet 200 at 1:30 pm on 102.9 FM.
