Blackshear Place Baptist Church groundbreaking set for May 1

The Blackshear Place Baptist Church family will celebrate a milestone in the church’s history with a special day of events and activities for the whole family. We will begin our time of celebration with a brief dedication service to praise the Lord for all that He has done and commit to pray for the construction project as it gets underway. There will be food from a food truck park and activities for all ages in an outdoor area, including a giant sandbox, inflatable games, and a covered area to relax and fellowship. ABOUT THE SEE CAMPAIGN Marked by tremendous generosity, unity, and love for God’s Word, Blackshear Place has been on mission to glorify God by proclaiming Jesus Christ since 1955. In order to have a greater impact in making disciples and serving Northeast Georgia, the church is engaged in a historic expansion project. This master planning process will take a long-term vision for the future and will fully involve our 40-acre campus. Blackshear Place is excited about the future and what this expansion will mean for ministry. Phase 1 of the new Worship Center includes: • A 2,000-seat, state-of-theart worship facility with all the necessary support spaces and expandable capabilities to 3,000 seats • A new Bridge Coffee Shop • An operation center for our growing Facilities Ministry • A net increase of 150 parking spaces • A renovation of two floors in Building D to support our growing Children’s Ministry • A reworking of the utilities and site to facilitate future expansion and growth When will Phase 1 be complete? We expect to be worshipping in the new Worship Center with all support spaces, site, and parking complete by Easter 2018. Construction will take approximately 24 months. What will Phase 1 of the Worship Center cost? This first phase will cost $18.2 million.
