Hall County puts Glades Reservoir project on hold for now

The Glades Reservoir project is on hold in Hall County, at least for the time being.

The Hall County Government has requested that its application — first submitted in 2007 — be temporarily withdrawn from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, according to county officials.

This will allow "more time to gather additional information with which to supplement its application," said Katie Crumley, county spokeswoman in an email statement.

"Additionally, a temporary withdrawal will be beneficial to both the County and the Corps of Engineers to the extent that final approval of the ACF Water Control Manual by the Mobile Corps will give definitive guidance as to Georgia's water needs through 2050."

Once more information becomes available, the county plans to pursue the permit.

More details about the project can be found here.
