GAINESVILLE — Chestatee snapped a three-game losing streak with a 3-2 win over Madison County Friday.
Austin Sargent provided the game-winner with a walk-off RBI single three pitches after Christian Carter scored the tying run on a wild pitch.
Trip Lemay picked up the win for the War Eagles (9-15, 5-9 Region 8-AAAA) pitching a complete-game, four-hitter. Lemay allowed two runs and six walks and fanned three.
Chestatee managed eight hits on the night paced by Joe Sutton and Sargent with two hits each. Sargent and Micah Flanagan each had one RBI while Flanagan, Christian Carter, Kyle Garrett, and Sean Irick each had one hit.
Chestatee next will travel to Monroe Area on Monday in another 8-AAAA battle.
