FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — The USA South Athletic Conference has released its 2016 All-Conference listing in men's tennis with both Nathan Metzger and Matthew Metzger earning the honor. For the brothers, this marks the second year in a row they have both made all-conference as Matthew has earned all-conference honors all three years of competition.
Matthew Metzger finished the year with a five-match win streak in singles play at the #2 position and an overall 12-4 record in singles play in 2016. Nathan Metzger was 9-7 at the #1 position in singles play including a 7-3 mark in conference play.
The brother were doubles partners finishing with a record of 11-5 and won their last three matches of the regular season. Nathan Metzger earned second team honors last season moving up to the first team listing this season while Matthew Metzger was an honorable mention last year and earned second team honors in 2016.
Freshman Harrison Labollita was also honored as the team's representative for the All-Sportsmanship Team.
The Lions will be in action Friday at the USA South Conference Tournament taking on #5 Huntingdon College at 2:00 p.m. in Rocky Mount, N.C.
